Artist's Description
In the rocky forests of Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, I found the spirit of
Autumn embodied in a small red berry. In addition to the beautiful blazing gold and red trees, I enjoyed picking these shiny little berries, known as redcurrants. Amidst a mammoth rock formation, I first noticed these round berries hanging from small shrubs like rows of precious jewels. I brought a batch home, hoping they were not poisonous. After learning that they were edible and very tart, I sprinkled them with plenty of sugar. They were delicious. “Cup of Wild Redcurrants,” is a digital painting and photo composite created in Spadecaller’s Florida Studio on 11/3/2021.
About M Spadecaller

Spadecaller is an experienced traditional artist, who creates original hand-painted digital images and photo composite artworks. In the late fifties at eight years old, Spadecaller started formal training in traditional oil painting.Through considerable personal sacrifice, his mother nurtured his artistic talents and provided him with the tools to launch his creative journey. Spadecaller attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City (1970-71), and during the 70's up until the late 80's, he exhibited acrylic and oils in Montreal and New York.
